Yes! The core writing suite is free and always will be. Features like the vault, chapters, references, Vineyard canvas and more are all accessible for free, forever. AI features run on an optional credit system.
Windows 10/11 and macOS (both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs). Linux support is coming soon, and there is a limited web editor for browser based access.
Novellier is experience first. It does not bloat you with a thousand options. Everything is where you need it and when you need it. Built from real writing experience, not feature checklists.
No internet needed. Novellier works completely offline and uses local files to autosave. Cloud syncing and updates require a connection but the program runs regardless.
Yes! We support imports from Scrivener projects, Word documents, PDFs, Google Docs, Markdown and plain text files.
No. Your writing inside Novellier is not used to train AI or sent to AI companies. AI features like MuseWeaver and Inkwell are completely opt in and only analyse your work when you ask them to.
Your writing stays on your device. When you create an account, we store the basics like your email and username. If you subscribe, Stripe handles your payment info securely. We also track general usage stats like words written and writing streaks to power features and help us improve. If you connect Google Drive for syncing, we store the connection details. That's about it. Nothing sneaky, just what's needed to make everything work.
Yes! You can link your Google account and Novellier will use your Google Drive to sync your projects to the cloud, letting you pick up where you left off on any device.
